Andy Vanguilder
Born in Grayling MI, I was introduced to the Beach Boys music in 1981. At 3 years old, I Totally took grasp of the complex harmonies and locked in to the music created by Brian Wilson. I truly believe that this was the one band that choose my path in life. Growing up in a Musical family, Music was ALWAYS a part of life. Like every young inspiring musician, I played in bands and wanted to be in the music industry because let’s face it, anything else was just a job or work. Little did I know!
In the fall of 2006, I moved to Phoenix Arizona where I enrolled at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. Graduating in 2007, I moved back home to Grayling to finish my internship with my father. I built my studio, acquired equipment, and soldered all the cable connections required for a studio. In January of 2008, I moved to Traverse City, and was lucky enough to land a freelance engineering Job, and my own room at a recording studio named Radius Recording. In 2011, the studio was being shut down, and I was on my own. I found a new place and a new identity. Halohorn Productions was born. The studio took about 10 months to build out and in January of 2012, I was back and ready to continue recording bands. In 2021, I renamed the company to AV Studios. My primary focus is based in Rock and Roll.
Through his mastery of sound engineering, Vanguilder has crafted breathtaking musical compositions for numerous regional and nationally recognized musicians.

Our vision is to establish AV Studios as the heart of this musical community, providing a welcoming space and the necessary resources for musicians to call home and realize their artistic aspirations.
